Cisternino is another beautiful, white town. It has an active evening "passegiata" where residents go out and meet for a chat. There are lots of Cafés and restaurants and a meat market where you go and choose and they roast it for you while you wait.

It features numerous small shops, restaurants and outdoor Cafes. in the evening, when it is illuminated with yellow gas light, you feel as if you were in an earlier time.
Martina Franca is the largest town in the area and has an awesome medieval center. it is featuring amongst others Piazzo Ducale and the Basilica di San Martino, a masterpiece with its intricate, sand colored, baroque facades.
Brindisi has been known as "the gateway to the East", when it became an important port, first for the Roman troops and later for the merchants of Venice. The shoreline is low and sandy for the whole stretch of coast , favored by a mild climate.
